Ferrata Pan di Zucchero with Mountain Guide

The via ferrata of the stack of Pan di Zucchero goes to the top by an ancient mining path, currently equipped by cables. Pan di Zucchero is the highest stack in the Mediterranean sea, being 133 meters high.

The approach to the via ferrata is by a breathtaking trip with dinghy. You reach the old docking station of the mining small sailing boats (bilancelle) to start the via ferrata on ledges connected by well-equipped vertical sections.

Along the way you will see the old galleries of the early 1900s where minerals was extracted. At the end of via ferrata, you can walk the circular path to the top of Pan di Zucchero.

The descent could be from the same via ferrata we already climb, or by abseil directly on the boat.
All the equipment can be rent.

Marco Bigatti, Big Alpine Guide, will lead the via ferrataPossibility of staying in the B&B Pedra Rubia by the sea.

Itinerary

The approach to the via ferrata is by boat. In about 10 minutes you get to the the old dock of the racks from which the via ferrata starts. We will climb ledges connected by well-equipped cables and ladders.

Along the way you will see the old mining galleries from the early 1900s where some ore had been carried out.
At the end of the via ferrata you can take the circular path that brings on top of Pan di Zucchero.
